Thursday 5km recovery run

Saturday Rest
Sunday Fartlek run
The half marathon was not planned and I wasn't consciously training for it in the last few weeks. With hindsight it was a bit of a silly thing to do and I could have been seriously injured. Nevertheless, it was a significant achievement. I know now that my body can handle the punishment of the half marathon and that it can handle a continuos workout at an average of 77% MHR for 4 hours. I understand my body better now and I know what to do for next time. This is great experience for the sprint triathlon I want to compete in which will be done in just under 2 hours (hopefully).
I am very happy to be able to compete at an intensity of 80% MHR with some reserves to push it to 85% at the end of the race.
I am now better prepared to start planning the training programme leading into the triathlon.
This week I am going to focus on cycling and next week is about swimming. I am still having the time of my life. Every day brings new discoveries and successes.
Remember, If I can do it, you can do it too.....
